classic scam thats still happening in 2026. guy outside a bar says "free entry, first drink free." you go in, suddenly girls youre didnt ask for are sitting with you, then the bill is 50,000+ yen and theres a guy blocking the door. rule: NEVER go into any place a street tout invites you to. ever. the legit places dont need to drag people off the street.

hear me out. some people get charged ¥8,000 for drinks in the middle of tokyo nightlife districts and act like they've been robbed 😭 not talking about scams, actual scams are different. but tokyo after midnight was never supposed to be cheap. am i wrong

osaka surprised me more than tokyo
went to both last month. tokyo was incredible but osaka just felt... warmer? some random guys at a bar in namba literally adopted me for the night. showed me their favorite spots, bought me drinks, zero agenda. just friendly couldn't have happened in roppongi lol the food after clubbing also. 4am takoyaki from a street stall. i think about it every day
