osaka strangers talk to you like they've known you for years

maybe i just got lucky but every night in osaka somebody started a conversation with me. at bars, outside convenience stores, even waiting for food. tokyo feels way more closed off by comparison. people always talk about nightlife spots but nobody talks about how different the people feel. anyone else notice this
