the receipt said one number, the card machine showed another - ¥14,000 difference

asked to see the bill before paying, number looked fine, said ok. handed my card, the amount on the machine was ¥14,000 higher than what i'd just read 🚩 questioned it, staff said "tax and service" even though the first number apparently already included that according to them. paid because i didn't want to escalate alone. still bothers me that i can't tell if that was even legal
