what's something that sounds like a scam but is actually completely normal here

table charges existing at all confused me at first, felt like a scam every time. now i know it's just standard at a lot of bars and izakayas 👍 curious what other things tripped people up at first that turned out to be totally normal japanese nightlife stuff. trying to build a mental list before my next trip
