kyoto nightlife is different but actually good

everyone says kyoto is just temples and closes early. that's not wrong but there's more going on if you look pontocho alley is the obvious one - tiny atmospheric bars, some foreigner friendly. gion has a few spots if you know where to look. and there are some actual clubs around kawaramachi that are decent it's not osaka but for a night or two it's worth exploring. just don't expect tokyo energy🔥
